"Gossip Girl" Summer Reading

We're just weeks away from the new season of "Gossip Girl" on the CW, so it's time to -- pun intended -- get prepped. SOAPnet's suggestion? A Season 1 DVD party, complete with awards (read: cocktails) for the evening's top performers. Like, who delivers the best "xoxo"? Will any of your friends out-dress Chuck Bass? And for the couples -- who can suffer their star-crossed love in silence as powerfully as Dan and Serena?

When you're done matching plaids and gazing at each other, the party can continue with special footage fun. The DVDs have features detailing the show's development, the faaaabulous couture featured, and of course, a gag reel full of on-set shenanigans.

Psst! Was "Potter" a Victim of Horseplay?

Sometimes we can't verify a story, but it sounds so good we just have to share. We don't know if this story is true, but folks are talking about it and we want you to know about it!

Listen, we are as irritated as any Gryffindor-identifying nerd out there about the "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" movie delay. And hearing from Warner Bros. execs that the decision was made due to some monetary "summer tent-pole" issue -- well, that makes us mad enough to send a bat bogey hex their way.

But what if the movie was delayed not for money, but due to a stop on Daniel Radcliffe's "Legitimate Actor Tour, '08"? Fox News floats the theory that "Half-Blood Prince" was pushed so its star wouldn't be promoting the kid-friendly pic while starring in a, frankly, people-unfriendly project on Broadway, "Equus."

Brad's Kiehl's Deal

He's gorgeous, gifted, and he's green: Brad Pitt is so concerned with the environment, he's teaming up with beauty company Kiehl's to raise money for an eco-friendly charity.

The movie star and father of six co-created the non-profit organization JPF Eco Systems with Kiehl's. This October, when the company launches its Aloe Vera Liquid Biodegradable Body Cleanser -- made entirely of biodegradable ingredients -- 100 percent of the profits from the cleanser's $16.50 price tag will go to the charity. The campaign is expected to raise at least $1 million, with the first cut going to Pitt's Make It Right Foundation, which provides eco-friendly homes for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
