Doin' Something Right ...

Most of you have seen Billy Currington, whether as one of People's "Sexiest Men," on tour with Sara Evans, on multiple talk shows, or in his many music videos. We KNOW you've heard him. I mean, the guy's all over the radio, with "Doin' Something Right" (BTW, if ever there was a hot music video, that is it), "Why, Why, Why," the just-released "Don't," and "Party for Two" (a duet with Shania Twain -- she picked him personally for it).
What's Billy's next hit? "Drama in the Backwoods," perhaps? Okay, not really, but that's the name of a country song Billy would write about "General Hospital," his show of choice. We wouldn't really call Port Charles "backwoods," but we think Billy's more preoccupied with all the similarities between "GH" and a good country music song: heartbreak (usually involving infidelity), romance, and catchy, addictive lyrics (or in the case of "GH," a story).
Yes, Billy likes "GH". Billy's a romantic at heart (just listen to his songs) and is into all the lovin', lustin', and losin' that goes on at "General Hospital." Maybe he even gets a little inspiration from the show? After all, he did say he's most like serial heartbreaker Dr. Patrick Drake. But he's not a player, just girl crazy. We'd guess that Billy's actually most like uber-romantic Jax. I mean, his perfect date is cooking for a woman! BTW, did you hear about Ingo Rademacher's (Jax) baby with the unique name?
BTW, Billy's not the only macho singer with a thing for daytime drama. Did you know Snoop Dogg is a huge "One Life to Live" fan? So much so that he appeared on the show? Maybe Billy will follow suit with "GH"? It's not like the show doesn't have a musical legacy. Rick Springfield ("Jessie's Girl," anyone?) skyrocketed to fame on the show and continues to appear.
Billy's not alone in his fandom. Check out these other celebs who watch ABC Daytime:
Mel. B, singer with the Spice Girls.
Mike Metzger, THE godfather of freestyle motocross racing.
Vincent Pastore, actor (you know, Big Pussy on "The Sopranos"!).
Jamie Anderson, professional snowboarder.
Kristi Leskinen, champion skier.
Randolph Duke, celebrity style maker/fashion designer.
Jason Gray-Stanford, actor
Elizabeth Berkley, actress
