What is the coolest casting news we've heard lately? The original owner of the Millennium Falcon is checking in at Oceanside Wellness!
For those of us who had X-Wing fighter toys and just might carry Yoda backpacks to the SOAPnet office (shush!), the news that Billy Dee Williams is going to appear as Taye Diggs's patient on "Private Practice" this fall might be the greatest thing to happen to us since we found our light sabers in Mom's basement.
TV Guide is reporting that the "General Hospital: Night Shift" orderly will play a gentleman who's been caring for his ailing wife and ignoring his own poor health. This isn't the first time Billy Dee has been on an ABC show of late; he also had an amazing cameo in Season 3 of "Lost" as Mr. LaShade in the show within a show, "Expose." (For those fans playing close attention, "Expose" pops up a lot in subsequent "Lost" episodes.)
Totes worth noting: Shonda Rhimes's other series, "Grey's Anatomy," revealed last season that super surgeon Miranda Bailey is a huge "Star Wars" fan (who isn't?) -- so we can't help but wonder what Dr. Bailey might say about this bit of casting news.
What other "Star Wars" star would you like to see on the small screen?
