Country Star Rocks "The Young and the Restless"

Ever notice how Phyllis and Nick Newman (Michelle Stafford, Joshua Morrow) have sort of a kinky country-Western fetish on "The Young and the Restless"?

After all, their red-hot affair started out -- literally -- with a roll in the hay at the Newman family ranch. Then they hit a New Mexico cowboy bar together on an out-of-town "business" trip. Later, Nick and Phyllis gave themselves a boot-stompin' engagement party with a country hoedown theme. YEE HAW!

On May 2, Trace Adkins comes to Genoa City to serenade the couple on their first wedding anniversary. Look for the country crooner to perform his hit single "You're Gonna Miss This."

"Actually, this is the second week it's No. 1 on the [Billboard Hot Country Songs] chart," Trace told SOAPnet.com. "I'm really happy about that and happy to perform it on the show. It's a song that just reminds us all that we need to savor the moments of our youth, because it goes by so fast."

Do you like it when musicians guest star on soaps to perform hit songs? Or does it distract you from the drama?
