"One Tree" to the Max

Wondering why, on last night's "One Tree Hill," Peyton (Hilarie Burton) felt so comfortable pouring her heart out to a guy we barely know? Maybe it's because he's the one who wrote those sadly sincere lines.
The whole episode was filled with confessions. So, it was the perfect moment for show creator and exec producer Mark Schwahn to come back in his guest role as thirtysomething record-store owner Max -- and give Peyton a sounding board for her troubles (aka her unrequited love for ditched-at-the-altar Lucas).
We first met Max last season, when our heroes were still in high school. And, while the four-year flash-forward's been good for the Tree Hill kids (basketball contracts, record labels, fashion fame, best-selling books ... heck, even Mouth is on the fast track), poor Max has been hurt by the rise of digital music. Before giving Peyton some helpful advice, he told her the store has gone under.
It kind of makes us wonder: Did Mark Schwahn the actor resent Mark Schwahn the writer for axing his role?
Would you like to see more of Max, or should Mark stay behind the scenes?
