Jennifer Garner can now add "mogul-in-the-making" to her resume: She's signed a first-look production deal with Warner Bros.
Jennifer, who works with producing partner Juliana Janes under the banner Vandalia Films, says the WB deal will give her the flexibility to pick and choose her future roles. She told Variety, "To start with, we'll develop material as potential starring vehicles for me. I'd have to be pretty passionate about something to commit to the project if I wasn't intending to be in it."
One project in development is "3 Days in Europe," a romantic adventure that follows a couple through a Valentine's Day vacation to remember. Hugh Jackman is attached to co-star with Jennifer.
Other films on Vandalia's slate include "Arranged," about a modern-day arranged marriage; "Devil in the Junior League," an adaptation of Linda Francis Lee's Southern adultery tale; "Sabbatical," in which a couple takes a two-week vacation from each other during their seventh year of marriage; and a remake of a Japanese supernatural thriller called "Be With You."
Last year, Jennifer co-starred in the Oscar-winning comedy "Juno" and battled terrorists in "The Kingdom." She's currently shooting "The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" with Matthew McConaughey.
Now that husband Ben Affleck has made his directorial debut with last year's "Gone Baby Gone," the Affleck/Garner household is poised to become its own little Hollywood studio.
Do you think it's a good career move for Jennifer to develop films for herself?
