Big news! Two of our fave actors, Josie Bissett and Mark Derwin, have been cast in writer/producer Brenda Hampton's ("7th Heaven") new ABC Family series. The heartfelt hour-long drama (as yet untitled) will focus on a teenage girl's relationship with family and friends as they deal with her unexpected pregnancy. It's set to debut this summer -- maybe in July or even Juno.
Josie, best known for playing long-suffering fashion designer Jane Mancini on "Melrose Place," has also appeared in Oliver Stone's "The Doors" and in a slew of TV movies -- including the upcoming Lifetime original "The Other Woman," costarring Jason Priestley ("Beverly Hills, 90210").
Mark originated the role of A.C. Mallet on "Guiding Light" and later dropped into Llanview as Ben Buchanan on "One Life to Live." He's also costarred with Bonnie Hunt on ABC's "Life with Bonnie," guest-starred on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," and gotten wild with Justin Long, Jonah Hill, and Blake Lively ("Gossip Girl") in the college flick "Accepted."
Josie and Mark will be in good company. The star-studded cast already includes '80s film icon Molly Ringwald, Shailene Woodley ("The OC"), and John Schneider ("Smallville").
