Martino Vitali Hits Salem!

Ava's (Tamara Braun) dad, mob boss Martino Vitali, is finally making his way to "Days of Our Lives." And we're thrilled that TV actor Joe Penny has been cast in the role. Look for him this Friday, May 2.
Joe's been a fixture in primetime for years, starring in such series as "Riptide," "Jake and the Fatman," and, most recently, the Hallmark Channel's "Jane Doe" with Lea Thompson. The popular actor's list of guest appearances is long and distinguished, including roles on megahits "CSI" and "The Sopranos."
And it's about time "Days" put a face to the high-powered crime lord's name! Should we expect Martino to swoop in and bring a halt to Ava's obsessive reign of terror? Fugeddaboutit! This protective father hates Steve (Stephen Nichols) for breaking Ava's heart, so we're willing to bet he's not forgiving and forgetting any time soon.
