Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were falling over themselves to compliment Giorgio Armani on his design of Katie's bright red gown at last night's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala. "I love it!" Katie gushed to Stylehive on the event's red carpet. "It's so beautiful," agreed her doting -- and dashing -- hubby. The only person who's not happy? Superman, who wants his cape back.
And Katie's was just the first of many show-stopping gowns at the ultimate of ultimate fashion parties, a fete glamorous enough to attract designers, socialites, supermodels, rappers, and A-listers. It's the only event that can beat both the Oscars and Golden Globes for the title of Fashion Event of the Year.
This year's benefit celebration was called "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy," and was chaired by Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and Anna Wintour, all of whom were dressed by the honorary chair, Mr. Armani. But fashion immortality doesn't come cheap. Tables for the dinner were sold out at $75,000 to $250,000 each!
See what the celebs wore to a dinner that cost as much as a house (well, maybe a cottage) -- and read what they told Stylehive about their fashion choices!
