Battle Gets "Bold" Role in L.A.

Yee-haw! Texas Battle has been cast in the contract role of Marcus on "The Bold and the Beautiful," and it sounds like this newcomer is fixin' to turn Donna's world upside down.

We're super-excited about this hot young actor hitting the daytime scene, and not just because he's got the coolest name around. Born Clifton Quincy Battle, Texas has really sizzled the past few years. He's appeared in horror flicks "Final Destination 3" and "Wrong Turn 2," in "Coach Carter" with Samuel L. Jackson and Debbi Morgan (Angie from "All My Children"), and in "Even Money" with a mega-star-studded cast including Kim Basinger, Forest Whitaker, and Ray Liotta. He also guest-starred on a bunch of primetime series, including "One Tree Hill" and "The Bernie Mac Show."

What can we expect from Texas's new character on "The Bold and the Beautiful"? Executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell gives us the scoop: "Marcus books a flight to Los Angeles after seeing the wedding announcement of Eric and Donna in the local paper," Bell says. "He arrives on the scene at a time when the Forresters and the Logans are embroiled in deeply emotional issues. It is soon revealed that Marcus is connected to the Logans, and a secret that Donna has been keeping since she was a teenager."

How juicy is this secret? Could Marcus be Donna's (Jennifer Gareis) long-lost love child from back in the day? We won't hold you in suspense for this one ... it's true. She's his mom! Bell told TV Guide's Michael Logan, "When Donna was 16, she had a baby and gave it up for adoption."

Oh, the scandal! We can't wait to see Donna's reaction when Texas makes his "Bold" debut on Tuesday, May 13!
