Bummer Alert: Joe Penny Exits Salem
May 15, 2008 5:22 PDT By Sarah Tatting
Martino Vitali's reign of terror came to an end today when he pulled a gun during a final showdown, but got shot by Bo (Peter Reckell) instead. Aww! We know Martino was a bad guy, but we're super-bummed that "Days of our Lives" is losing Martino's ultra-talented portrayer, Joe Penny. He was totally kicking butt as the despicable mobster AND had amazing chemistry with Lauren Koslow's Kate.
This turn of events does, however, open up some of intriguing new storyline possibilities that got our wheels turning. How will all of this affect Bo? Will he finally find peace, or will he be accused of carrying out his own justice by killing the man responsible for his father's death? And what about Ava (Tamara Braun)? Will she be fully redeemed now that she's no longer under her daddy's thumb, or will she seek out her own brand of vengeance?
All of these possibilities sound pretty juicy to us! How do you think Martino's death will affect our friends in Salem?
