We're sure many ladies out there would like nothing more than to stare into George Clooney's eyes for an extended period of time, but right now he's more interested in staring at goats.
George has just signed on to star in "Men Who Stare at Goats " -- an adaptation of British journalist Jon Ronson's book about the U.S. Army's First Earth Battalion, a real-life (though never formed) unit that planned to use new age techniques and paranormal powers in combat. The wacky title refers to the idea that one can kill a goat just by (you guessed it!) staring at it.
The script was written by Peter Straughan, whose "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" starring Megan Fox and Kirsten Dunst comes out later this year. Directing the pic is Grant Heslov, George's writing partner on their Oscar-nominated film "Good Night, and Good Luck." The "Goats" script has been swirling around Hollywood for some time now, and even made the 2007 Brit List of best unproduced screenplays.
No start or release date has been announced, but we hope George doesn't kill too many goats. He should just keep killing us softly with his stares instead.
Are you interested in seeing this movie? Or is the subject matter just a little too weird?
