Ian Ziering Coming to MySpace
May 16, 2008 12:35 PDT By Horacio Rodriguez
With "90210" alum Ian Ziering moving from Beverly Hills to "Dancing with the Stars" and now to the Internet, you need a "Career GPS" to find the busy actor these days.
MySpace TV is developing a short-form original series starring Ian and based on the comedy short he directed, produced, and starred in called "Man vs. Monday." Ian plays an office cubicle dweller who has a wild weekend and faces karmic payback when everything seems to hit the fan the following Monday.
Ian will co-produce through his company iMan Productions, along with NuMedia Studios.
"In the entertainment industry there remains one constant: change," Ian told The Hollywood Reporter. "I believe the digital world presents tremendous opportunities for the producers who understand it, and I am launching a digital production company, iMan Productions, to take advantage of this opportunity."
MySpace TV has been filling its site recently with original webisodes including "Quarterlife," "Special Delivery," and "Roommates." The Internet has seen a huge growth in original programming -- and many industry insiders believe it's the future of entertainment. You may have noticed a little Writers Guild strike a few months ago that virtually stopped Hollywood; new media and Internet programming was a huge bargaining issue.
Looks like Ian's on the cutting edge! Let's hope he's able to juggle "Man vs. Monday" with a few appearances on the CW's new "90210" spinoff.
