Daphne Zuniga: "Mail Order Bride"

"Melrose Place" vet Daphne Zuniga is heading west -- the Old West -- in her latest role. She'll play a 1880s woman who takes the place of a dead friend as a mail order bride in order to escape her old life as a scam artist, in a Hallmark Channel movie set to premiere in November.

In "Mail Order Bride," Daphne plays Diana, a woman who's been working as part of a grifter team, fleecing unsuspecting men of their cash. But she wants out, and devises a plan; she'll impersonate her friend, who was betrothed to a rancher, and leaves urban New England for a cow town. Of course, her mobster partner (Greg Evigan) tracks her down. The film is shooting in Vancouver now.

Daphne, 45 -- who played Jo Reynolds on "Melrose" and most recently recurred as Brooke's mom, Victoria, on "One Tree Hill" -- also guest-starred on "Nip/Tuck" last year, and starred in ABC Family's "Beautiful People." Later this year, she'll produce and star in another project for Hallmark.
