Sunday's two-hour "Desperate Housewives" season finale did an amazing job of answering burning questions and sparking new ones. (For SOAPnet.com's in-depth recap, just click here.) Our message boards are buzzing with rants and raves about the "Desperate" double Wisterian whammy.
First off, people were thrilled to see Tom defend Lynette against his demon seed daughter, Kayla. Could you believe when she framed Lynette for child abuse by burning herself with a curling iron?! "Kayla got what she deserved," declares Anka63. "Good job, Tom! [But] I have a feeling that this wasn't the last time we see Kayla."
"Kayla was an evil child," HilightsSpringFever agrees. "I just hope her grandparents survive [living] with her!"
Speaking of girl trouble, everybody's wrapping their heads around the revelation of Katherine's daughter switch. FINALLY we understand why Julie thought Dylan seemed different when she returned to Wisteria Lane. Turns out, she's not Dylan!
Some viewers found Katherine's colorful explanation (again, see our recap) a little hard to swallow. As IFLO1903 sums it up: "Katherine and her aunt felt they couldn't go to the police because [Wayne] had friends on the force, and he would make it seem like she killed their daughter. So they buried her and went to Romania and adopted another little girl. OMG! So ridiculous, in my opinion."
Many were viewers were disappointed by Edie's absence from the season finale extravaganza. kjsjrc1003 points out: "I've always liked her. She's the devious, troublemaking predator that everyone has in their neighborhood. Wisteria Lane would be kind of boring without her."
The five-year flash into the future was very popular. The biggest question that came out of that epilogue: Who the heck is that man Susan's coming home to -- and kissing -- in five years? 'Cause her current husband, Mike, is nowhere to be seen. "That actor is Gale Harold," enthuses lori0876. "He used to star on 'Queer as Folk' as Brian Kinney and he is smokin' hot!"
"I loved that they introduced Gale Harold as Susan's future man," agrees MrFashionista. "THAT was a surprise! I also loved that Bree and Orson are back together in the future. Yay! And I couldn't believe they killed off Justine Bateman the way they did. This finale was the wildest, most outrageous one yet."
