What's in Store for Season Two?

Save the date: "General Hospital: Night Shift" is back on Tuesday, July 22 at 11pm ET/PT on SOAPnet. The new season features fresh faces -- and BIG returning favorites -- you can't miss! Read on for lotsa news about what's coming up.
First off, Antonio Sabato, Jr. is reprising his "General Hospital" role as Jagger Cates. Go here for more info on Jagger's comeback. Plus, Kimberly McCullough (Dr. Robin Scorpio), Jason Thompson (Dr. Patrick Drake), Billy Dee Williams (Touissant Dubois) and Sonya Eddy (Epiphany Johnson).
Here's the hot newcomers: Adam Grimes is Dr. Kyle Julian, Carrie Southworth is Dr. Claire Simpson, Azita Ghanizada is Dr. Saira Batra. And there's a quick recast note: Ethan Rains now plays Dr. Leo Julian (he took over the role from his real-life brother, Dominic Rains, who was unavailable for Season Two).
What's also great is that you can expect "Night Shift" to totally synch with "General Hospital." Last season's breakneck production schedule meant that some events on "Night Shift" didn't synch up with what was happening on "General Hospital." (Y'know, like when Jason was in jail during the day but not on "Night Shift.") Now the continuity between the two shows will be seamless.
FYI, you DON'T have to watch "General Hospital" at all to follow the action on "Night Shift." It's just a very cool, extra treat if you watch both shows.
There are some new faces behind the scenes, too. Lisa de Cazotte, who is best known as the executive producer of "Passions" during the show's nine-year run (it ends in August, but all episodes have been taped), will serve as the show's EP. Prior to "Passions," Lisa was a producer on "All My Children" and "One Life to Live."
Sri Rao will be the show's head writer. He has written for a variety of different projects, most recently "What Goes On" for MTV Networks. We can tell you Sri is a very cool guy who's been a huge "General Hospital" fan for years. So the show is in good hands.
But what about Jill Farren Phelps and Bob Guza, Jr? The "General Hospital" EP and head writer did double duty last year with "Night Shift." Their already insane schedules couldn't accommodate both jobs this year.

I love Kimberly She is one of the best actress on GH and Night Shift. The only thing I do not understand is why the Writes do not reunite Jason and Robin one of the best love story ever. Steve and Kimberly are amazing together. No one can match them. Please tell all of the Jason and Robin fan's why have GH not put them back together. Jason and Liz are so boring. Patrick and Robin are not good for each other. I love night shift. I just wish Jason was on.

Check the Soapnet schedule for the rest of the week. Nightshift is on a lot. some days at 7 AM and on Sat.,7 and 11 AM and 11Pm. Loved the first show, Patrick so in command and Robin and Patrick having a conversation that lasted more than 20 seconds. Robin does have a bedroom, Jaggar came out of it. Couldn't they have a set made for it so they don't have to use the couch for everything?? There are new sets for the hospital, etc. and is it my imagination or are different cameras or taping being used? Their faces don't look quite the same. Some shows use film and some tape. The characters look better on the daily taped shows than on the filmed ones, I think. Anybody notice a difference? I sent an e-mail to Soapnet right away and told them I enjoyed the show and look forward to the rest of them.

I would like to see Layla coupled with a nice guy who has similar goals and beleifs. In short, with a man and happy. I all ready like the idea of Patrick as cheif of staff. I'm hoping that Tousant will be interested in Epithany. Most of all, I was hoping that the young black nurse was going to turn out to be Tousant's daughter, but I heard that she's been let go. If that's true, it's not to late to bring her back. Then, NS could have four romances going that I'm sure would please most of the viewrs.

Dag LilacPinkHearts I think you may be out of luck. Maybe you can catch clips of the shows on YouTube hopefully or have someone you know record Night Shift for you. Otherwise you will have to get the DVDs of Season 2 when it comes out. I really feel bad for the people who don't have SoapNet. They need to do something about that. Sorry. I agree Grannypris.

I would like to see Robin and Patrick really become a family with a beautiful "small"wedding since she is already pregnant. I would like to see ome getting to know you to becomming more than friends for Billy Dee and Epif (can't spell right). We need some mixed happy couples to "FALL IN LOVE WITH."

Hi dodaday81 Yes, SoapNet shows an episode a few times before the next Tuesday's show. Or that's what they did last time. And last year it came on Thursday nites.
