No Emmy for Lindsay

Lindsay Lohan has bowed out of the Emmy race this year. Linds -- who made a blink-and-you-missed-it turn on the "Ugly Betty" season finale as one of Betty's high school classmates -- thinks she doesn't deserve a nomination because "the appearance was too brief," according to her rep. "We made the decision to wait."

Is this becoming a trend? What's with the pre-emptive strikes against the Academy?

Lindsay was on the finale for a little less than a minute -- but this fall, she returns to the ABC series for a multiple-episode arc as a Betty frenemy who's down on her luck, returning her soundly to viciously fun "Mean Girls" territory.

Meanwhile, Lindsay is busy shooting her new comedy "Labor Pains," in L.A., where things are going surprisingly smoothly for the actress, who's had a troubled year of DUI arrests and rehab stints.

Lindsay's bow-out leaves former pals Britney Spears and Mary-Kate Olsen to battle it out against 37 others in the Best Guest Actress category. Brit made a funny on the sitcom "How I Met Your Mother," while Mary-Kate guest-starred on "Weeds."
