First came the news that "The Hills" was going to London. And now the first casting morsel to come out of the rumor mill is that model and party chick, Daisy Lowe, will be the British Lauren Conrad.

Let's see what they have in common. Daisy is a bona fide high fashion model, with campaigns for Doc Martens, Agent Provocateur, and Burberry under her edgily stylish belt. She also has an impressive rockstar/style pedigree: Her dad is Gavin Rossdale and her mum is designer Pearl Lowe. And Lauren Conrad? She's just a seemingly ordinary girl with an extraordinary super-power: Everything she touches turns to publicity.

This confirms our suspicions that the Brits don't quite get the point of "The Hills" and are trying to inject a certain cool factor into what should be a mindless guilty pleasure. Daisy has way too much street cred and potential to succeed on her own merits, without the help of a TV show.

Also, the fact that there really aren't a whole lot of hills in the British capital doesn't seem to bother anyone. But then, the American version of the so-called "reality show" didn't exactly set the bar for factual authenticity very high, so we suppose they can call it any ol' thing they want. And you know everyone will watch it anyway.
