Vivienne Westwood Disses "City"

True to her reputation as the "enfant terrible" of British fashion, Vivienne Westwood has revealed that she's not exactly a fan of "Sex and the City" -- the movie that's bringing her more publicity than a thousand ad campaigns could ever do.

The eccentric London-based designer created the over-the-top wedding gown Carrie Bradshaw wears on screen and even hand-wrote the note that Carrie finds in the box with the dress. But she recently told WENN that she found the film dull, saying "I went to the premiere and left after ten minutes." That's not so much biting the hand that feeds you as chewing it off at the elbow.

Specifically, Westwood, 67, was unimpressed by the zany outfits that costume designer Patricia Field chose for the Fab Four. She said: "I thought Sex And The City was supposed to be about cutting-edge fashion and there was nothing remotely memorable or interesting about what I saw."

Wow. We thought the English were supposed to be polite. Should we prepare for a Westwood-Field smackdown? Reserve your ringside seats now.

What did you think of the clothes in "Sex and the City: The Movie"?
