Now that "Sex and the City" has proven that yes, women do like movies, Sarah Jessica Parker's got her pick of projects. The one she seems to have settled on? An adaptation of Karen Quinn's book "The Ivy Chronicles" that'll have her single in New York City once again.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, SJP is in talks with Warner Bros. to star in the movie, which is being described as a "Devil Wears Prada"/"Nanny Diaries"/"Starter Wife" kinda thing. Sarah Jessica would play Ivy Ames, a posh New York woman who loses her job, gets divorced, takes her kids out of private school, and moves downtown. There she starts a business helping women who want to get their children into elite kindergartens.
You know what? Forget all those other comparisons -- substitute "downtown" with "Vermont" and "elite kindergarten admissions" with "applesauce" and this film's a dead ringer for Diane Keaton's "Baby Boom." Who's with us?!
Was it SJP or "Sex" that brought you to the theatre this summer?
