Ryan Reynolds Oughta Know

Alanis Morissette wishes nothing but the best for her most recent "Mr. Duplicity," former fiance Ryan Reynolds, but (surprise!) Howard Stern can't be as kind.

Amidst an uncomfortable amount of "no comments," Stern lambasted Ryan when Alanis was on his show Friday. "I never even heard of this guy, Ryan Reynolds," he said. "He's a nobody."

When the Canadian singer refused to take the bait, Stern added, "No really; I mean, who is he? ... When you were in love with him, I didn't like it. I thought the guy was a douchebag."

In the studio to promote her new album -- which Stern and Co. recommend because "whenever a guy breaks up with her ... she writes the best music" -- Alanis was also pressed about "the other woman," Ryan's new fiancee Scarlett Johansson. "By the way, he hooked up with this Scarlett Johansson ... You know, right away she had to come out with a music album ... Did you hear the music? It's awful!" Stern said. To which a smart Alanis simply responded, "I'm not giving any opinions about it; it's none of my business."

Instead, she apparently saved her thoughts for the tunes. After performing her new song "Underneath," Stern commented, "Well that said it all ... Guy's a real jerk."

Guess she reminded them of the mess Ryan left when he went away?
