Though we're convinced that magazines generally put out lists just to anger us (i.e. "Really?! You left 'insert-thing-I-heart-here' off the best 'insert-category-here' of 2008?! I'm writing a letter to the editor!"), we have to give them credit when they get things right. Like when Vanity Fair does the crack research of turning on their TVs, browsing the internets, and reading the tabs in order to discover: "Gossip Girl" is, like, OMF'ingG huge!
The cast is in the mag's "Hollywood's Next Wave" feature, with star Blake Lively receiving special attention in an individual call-out. And, of course, the young and sexy "Gossip" group had lots of fun things to say.
Blake, for example, is a huge Brangelina fan who likes her food "greasier and cheesier" than your average model-sized girl. Real-life beau Penn Badgley loves hip-hop and "can't stand all those indie 'the' bands." Chace Crawford's crush is Liz Lemon -- hello, did he just get hotter? Ed Westwick wants to work with Jude Law, "a fantastic spirit and a gentleman." Leighton Meester wasn't the Queen B in high school -- "I'm more a normal person than, like, a fashion girl ... We didn't have much when I was little." And Taylor Momsen can't get enough "Law & Order: SVU" -- "I can watch like six in a row, and my mom's like, 'You just watched six rape stories,' but I love how it's so dramatic, and then when they finally find the guy, it's like, 'Yes!'"
Other young stars who made the Vanity Fair list include the Jonas Brothers, Olivia Thirlby, Amanda Seyfried, Emma Roberts, and Jonah Hill.
Have you ever gotten in arguments over "best of" lists?
