ScarJo on Love

Days after Alanis Morissette didn't trash her ex Ryan Reynolds and his new fiancee, Scarlett Johansson, on the Howard Stern Show, Scarlett opens up about monogamy, love, and soul mates.

"You don't always meet the right person at the right time," ScarJo says in the August issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. "It's important for people to figure out their own lives before involving someone else -- to gauge where you are and work on your own issues."

But ScarJo -- who has been linked to celebs like Jared Leto and Josh Hartnett -- got some flack earlier for comments she made about people not being monogamous by nature.

"I don't think it's a natural instinct for human beings," she explained to Cosmo. "Monogamy can be hard work for some people. I don't think it applies to everybody, and I don't think a lot of people can do it."

Still, she said, "I've always been in monogamous relationships. I would never want to be in an open one. It'd be too awful."

So it seems she and fiance Ryan Reynolds are willing to give it a go, since they got engaged in May. "I believe in finding a soul mate," she said. Let's hope she thinks Ryan is hers!
