Oprah's got competition, people -- she's not the only famous book club in town any more! This week, the masterminds behind "Lost," executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, invited their fans to join the "Lost" book club. Not only did the Others get together to discuss "Carrie," but now you can too!
Books have been a big part of the series since its inception. Stephen King is an inspiration to the writers, and is a huge fan of the show himself. Books have been prominently featured on shelves in the hatch, in characters' hands, and copious allusions have been deliberately included in numerous episodes. Sawyer, the unlikely bookworm, has been seen on screen reading everything from Walker Percy's "Lancelot" to Judy Blume's "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret."
Now books aren't just for the screen. Damon and Carlton are giving their viewers a chance to read the myriad of writers who have inspired them -- and have even written a letter to their fans that you can find on the club site. The club launched via iTunes and abc.com, and has already generated voluminous discussions on the show's message boards. Click here to check it out!
