Coming soon to HBO: a post-Katrina New Orleans drama, a Martin Scorsese-produced show about Atlantic City in the '20s, and an adaptation of the book based on a 2004 political sex scandal, "The Washingtonienne." The new series were announced on Thursday at the network's presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
HBO will also be collaborating with Sarah Jessica Parker for the foreseeable future. Not only is she on-board to exec-produce "Washingtonienne," HBO president Michael Lombardo says another "Sex and the City" movie is in the works: "We're trying to put that together now. There's absolute interest."
There may be interest in another hit HBO series coming to the big screen. While Lombardo nixed any hope for a "Deadwood" flick, he left the door open for "The Sopranos." "Whatever [creator David Chase] wants to do," he said. Of course, that would mean explaining what exactly happened to Tony in the finale ...
