With the presidential campaign ramping up, the stars are coming out on the controversial side of democracy. Radical vote-endorser Christina Aguilera and son Max are some of the first on the scene -- the pair have shot an advertisement for the exercise of civic duty.
Produced through Rock the Vote, the spot features the singer cradling her sleeping seven-month-old son in an American flag (is that appropriate usage?) and softly singing "America the Beautiful," a capella-style. It's super-touching and sweet. But "rock"? Not so much.
Still, we'll take lullaby politics to Diddy's "Vote or Die" efforts any day. Not only was that a little too violent for our delicate sensibilities, it didn't work! Paris Hilton didn't cast a ballot in 2004 despite her involvement with the project.
Do you think celebrities should get involved in politics?
