So You Wanna Be a Stylist?

As if we needed another reality show from the King of All Reality, MTV. But rumor has it that this fall, the network's poised to bring you "The Stylist" -- a "Project Runway"-type endeavor that follows eight aspiring stylists as they groom, consult, and shop their way to fame. And the winner gets -- what else? -- a contract with famed stylist Rachel Zoe's old reps, the Margaret Maldonado Agency. We wonder if one of their tasks involves dressing Nicole Richie ...

The net sent out an open casting call for all those "trying to make it in the fashion world" last October, and they're just now kicking off production on the show. Which means that come fall, it'll be going head-to-head with the CW's "Stylista" (sense a trend?), which follows wannabe fashion editors around a "top" magazine.

OK, we know it sounds kinda iffy -- and probably less exciting than all those "challenge"-type shows that Bravo's been rolling out -- but you know we'll be watching anyway. Maybe it'll come on right after the new season of "The Hills" ... ?
