Here's some exciting news for teens who can't afford Baby Phat: Kimora Lee Simmons's more accessible clothing line, Fabulosity, is now available at JCPenney.
The brand is defined by the same funky, urban aesthetic as Kimora's label Baby Phat, but -- with prices ranging from $29 to $108 -- it's much more wallet-friendly. "The days of spending tons on clothes are gone -- I mean, I still do it, but young girls can't," Simmons told WWD. The former model turned designer and reality TV star added that she hopes to expand the line to shoes, accessories, bags, and even a range for the home.
Last night, Kimora celebrated the launch of Fabulosity with a party at New York's Hiro nightclub. A 21-and-over nightspot is not exactly the obvious choice of venue to kick off a collection for teens, but then, Kimora's anything but conventional.
You can buy the clothes online right now, or in stores from later this month. And moms who are worried that the styles might be a bit too "hoochie" for back to school, relax: From what we've seen of Fabulosity, it's totally age-appropriate.
What do you think about teens copying Kimora's style?
