New "90210" Producer: Everyone's Welcome Back

One would think that running the super-buzzed-about new "90210" would be an immense pressure, but executive producer Gabe Sachs tells the Los Angeles Times he and partner Jeff Judah "see this as a totally fun thing."
And, as is often the case with fun things, Sachs subscribes to a "the more, the merrier" philosophy. "We'd love to have anyone from the old cast that would like to be on it," he says.
... So much for any speculation otherwise.
Meeting with the former "90210" cast has been a highlight of the process for Sachs thus far, but he warns the Times -- not everything that's been reported is true. For example, Donna Martin might not own a boutique. And a deal for Shannen Doherty is still premature -- Sachs had a three and a half hour-long dinner with the actress, but says "it's complicated. It's up to the business folks."
Thankfully, not all the casting has been "complicated." Take, for example, Joe E. Tata's character Nat. "Nat! My gosh. It was such an accident," Sachs explains. "Someone said they saw Nat in a store, so I called casting and told them, let's see if he'd like to do it. He was ecstatic. It's going to be a big deal."
