Ashton tried out the format at home, and it made him realize how little he knows about Demi and his stepdaughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. "Could I tell you what kind of perfume my wife wears every single day? Could I tell you it's tuberose if there's a new car on the line?" he wondered. "I would play for like two bucks at the dinner table with the girls and Demi -- y'know, birthdays and anniversaries and who's Tallulah's favorite band. We had a blast with it," he said, explaining that the show "has really encouraged me to make a greater effort to learn more about the people that I spend every single day with."

Ashton, who's trying to find a new network for CW reject "Beauty and the Geek," has a pair of movies coming up. "One is called 'Personal Effects' and I play an Olympic wrestler. It's about two people who fall in love on the steps of a courthouse. The other one is a movie called 'Spread,' where I play a young Hollywood player guy who sleeps with women for their money."

As busy as he is on both sides of the camera, Ashton's happiest playing husband and dad. "I'm most excited to go home," he said; "Just being at home with my family."
