Officially, "One Life to Live" turned 40 on July 15. However, the real party begins on July 21 and 22, when the show goes all out to celebrate its ruby anniversary. It pays homage to three classic stories:

*Viki goes to Heaven: Remember this? Back in '87, Viki died and went to Heaven, where she saw all her friends and family who had also died. Well, Viki's dead (again) so she's back in Heaven (again) to see MORE friends and family. And they include ex-husband Ben (Mark Derwin), ex-father-in-law Asa (Phil Carey), and her guardian angel, played by OLTL creator Agnes Nixon. And how cool is this? Erin Torpey -- who played Jessica from 1990-2003 -- will be appearing in heaven as Megan, the stillborn baby Jessica had back in 1999. Oh, there's someone else in Heaven, too, but you'll just have to watch.

Also, Mel (Stephen Merkle), Dorian's beloved (and dead) ex, rips into her down on Earth. We love that.

It's not fair to Todd that he is always getting the story line of the jack***! Does his character remind writers of someone from their past that they have some sort of bad blood with. It seems as if they won't be satisfied until this character has no fan base. I love Todd and just once want to see him not be the bad guy.

I remember this show as a child before Erica Slezak was Viki- a fact referred to by Agnes Nixon in heaven! The three "reenactments" going on these days are killing me with laughter- especially the 1968 (featuring the original title cards over a shot of a fire on the TV) visit to the Buchanan ranch. Viki needs to run into Joe, and Merry, and Tony in heaven, and the redux of the "Tina iver the falls" is killer. A great tribute to these 40 years!

I want to see Dorian in Hell being judged for her all her bad actions. And for the show to realize that the show lose it's life without Viki. To me if Viki is not on OLTL they don't have a show. She can't stay dead.
