Rick Springfield: In Concert!

Get out your Day Planners, or BlackBerrys, or whatever it is that people use for calendars these days (doesn't it seem to change, like, every hour?), because Rick Springfield is set to give a concert ... on "General Hospital"! All right, so it's not *really* Rick Springfield -- but it is one of the characters he portrays: rocker Eli Love. And any Rick Springfield in concert is good Rick Springfield in concert!

The performance occurs right in the midst of disturbing identity issues our resident butt-kicking spy, Anna (Finola Hughes), is having. She's totes into Eli, but is growing increasingly insecure about her age -- especially when it comes to Eli's rock 'n' roll-groupies-are-our-friends lifestyle. Whatever, Anna; you're a hot grandma. Wear it with pride!

Rick sings one of his latest songs, "What's Victoria's Secret?" Which, shockingly, is not about the underwear store. Look for the performance to air on July 29.

We'd give anything to see him do "Jessie's Girl" on the show. But, natch, that's Rick Springfield's song and not Eli Love's. Oh, who cares? Break continuity! On a side note, "Jessie" is the typical spelling for a female (the "ie" being the big difference) -- so for a really long time, we thought this song was about desiring a lesbian's girlfriend.
