Is "Cashmere" Out of Fashion?

Darren Star's "Cashmere Mafia" is reportedly on ABC's renewal bubble. And NBC has already ordered more episodes of Candace Bushnell's rival "Lipstick Jungle." People are starting to think "Cashmere" might be a casualty in the battle for heir apparent of "Sex and the City."

ABC says no final decision has been made, but the network has already renewed shows like "Dirty Sexy Money" and "Pushing Daisies," so we can't help wondering. (And yes, we're owned by parent company ABC, so you might think we have the inside track but sadly we're in the dark on that one....)

The shows really are nearly identical, so why is one winning? Maybe in the world of successful NYC women, there's just more room for "Lipstick" than a "Mafia."

Will you be bummed if "Cashmere" gets canceled?

Cashmere Mafia is a great show. It gave you an extra boost of woman power. It was nice to see poweful women in what some still call a mans world. A high powerful executive at a big hotel, one in the world of fashion, what else would you need? It gave power to career bonded women, but you also got that a sense of what motherhood/being a wife and a hard nose workaholic are about. It made you want to come home and watch it.
