Christian Bale's Mom and Sis Speak Out

Sure, he's a major movie star. But you can't blame the guy for defending his wife's honor. Even if the one throwing insults was his own mama.

It's starting to seem that the whole Christian Bale-allegedly-assaulted-his-mom-and-sister drama on Sunday is just an age-old tale about the conflict between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Apparently, Christian lashed out at his mother, Jenny Bale, in response to comments she made about his wife, Sandra "Sibi" Blazic, who attended the "Dark Knight" premiere with Christian Monday.

Or at least that's what London's Daily Mail is reporting. "Christian was stressed, but he didn't lay a finger on anyone," a source close to Christian told the paper. "Instead, he flew off the handle and cussed his mother. He just got very loud because his mother was saying some very outrageous things about him and his wife."

"Christian's attitude is that this was his mother's fault because she became very provocative in an argument they were having," the source added. "Things got out of control and he now says he wishes he just left the room."
