What is Super Soap Weekend?

If you haven't heard about Super Soap Weekend, sit down -- because we are about to tell you, and you are about to get excited. If you are already sitting down, even better. Super Soap Weekend is THE premiere fan event for ABC Daytime and SOAPnet fans. Do you love "All My Children," "One Life to Live," and "General Hospital?" Then this is the event for you!
This year's weekend, set for November 15 to 16, takes places at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando. It's the perfect venue for it -- y'know, with the whole "showbiz" theme. Also, it has good rides and good food. Which is sorta the second most important thing about the event, next to seeing the stars ... .
And stars you will see! Every Super Soap features about thirty of your favorite stars from "AMC," "OLTL," and "GH." There are endless opportunities to meet them. Parades, talk shows dedicated to specific series or actors, "casting calls" (where you can audition opposite your favorite actor), autograph sessions, and even a giant concert every night. Who performs? The celebs, of course!
Seriously, it's a blast. There's something really, really amazing about being in the park and hearing the "AMC" theme music blasting and just being around people that also love the show (insert "GH" or "OLTL").

I have been watching soap for years and it would be such an honor to meet and greet some of the people who are apart of my everyday life. Especailly the Steve Burton, who I hope decides to showup at the last minute.

please choose because ive been watching soaps since i was in elementary school, and i also wanted to win this trip because my husband has never been to disney world he wasnt born n the U.S. so i wanted it to be a gift to him. he would be really happy to be there also it'll take his mind off work since he works 2 jobs 7 days a week.thank you

my sister and I have been there for last 4 years it's the greatest thing you can do lots hugs and kisses and fun ...lots of after partys we don't sleep much we get there on thursday and stay to monday...this year there going be 6 of us meeting there let you know what happen lol

If you can't afford to stay in the Disney property hotels (there are some food deals to be had check out travelzoo or other travel sites like Bookit); stay in an area close to the properties for easy commute. Go for clean and inexpensive for you will be spending most of your time attending the event. Hotels just a short distance from downtown Disney are good. International Drive properties maybe a little more difficult to commute from. Most travel sites will offer you mapping options to see hotel locations.

SSW is a lot of fun but hard to see everyone. Should have a way that you can see all the shows if you can only go one day.The night show is great but the whole day is very crowded. I also agree bring back the previews. Hope you all have a great time at SSW.

I live here, have a Florida season pass, go to SSW every year, except last year, went on a 7 day cruise to Bermuda and I was just miserable because I missed it. Needless to say I'll be there this year. With bells on!!! It's the most fun you'll ever have but make sure you check out all the rules about fast passes and get there plenty early!! Be patient, only take AMC, OLTL and GH Fans with you and just enjoy!!!!

I agree - bring back the previews at the end of the show. I tape my show and sometimes don't know which tape is next, but if i saw the preview from the day before - then i can find it easier!!

'08 will be my 1st time and I am so excited!!!! My sweet sister lives in Orlando and is making this happen for me!!! I truely LOVE her!!! (almost as much as I love JR Chandler!) I hope too see you there!! (I'll be the one STALKING HIM!!)

We have not been to SSW before and look forwardto going this year...Any suggestions on hotels? Does anyone know of any package deals being offered? Also, why doesn't SSW 2008 have a website to answer questions and provide details regarding which celebs will be there, etc? Thanks to anyone who can help!

I hate this new schedule, where is the OLTL weekend marathon? Why do you have all these "nonsoap" programs taking up valuable space. And who wants to get up at 6 am on Sunday to watch Port Charles? Please put the soaps back in Soapnet!

I've gone to every Super Soap Weekend...This year is no different...Even if you are only a small ABC Soap fan...Once you get there...You get so caught up in everything...it's a High like you wouldn't believe!!! 2008 should be a great year!!!

this is not news, it's a waste of MegaBytes. This is all old, we don't want old news, we want "REAL" updates. I just get so disapointed in FLUFF and BS. SoapNet.Net you get it right half the time with nice new videos and storyline updates and new articles, but half the time you just post to be posting... especially on hot topics. This whole SuperSoap Weekend section is regurgitation. You guys should save the space for REAL NEWS. I could see leading into it with a very few old photos and the brief explanation of what SSW is... all about, but that would be all, all that is necassary, as a lead in to the NEW info, NEW NEWS, that breaks with a pathway leading to ongoing updates and news. Even if you only posted a partial list, or partial list of events and an itinerary for one or two actors... SoapNet you rock, the most colorful site ever and a nice new format, but please, stop treating fans like they are dumb and desperate. My critisism comes with Love & appreciation for your work. I am not at all happy with "MVP" and what is worse is that I don't get to catch up on "All My Children" on Saturdays anymore. I am going through Chemo and don't fill like doing much on the weekends and "All My Children" is all that is on that is worth watching. You took that down to 3 shows a week and now with that stupid show, "MVP" I don't get to see "All My Children" at all. I guarantee you that "All my Children" will be around a long for a much longer time than "MVP". In the meantime, have you quit showing "All My Children" all together on Saturdays now? Poor judgment I would say!!
