If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

That seems to be the CW's philosophy with their latest ads for "Gossip Girl." By juxtaposing sexy images from the show -- Blake Lively in apparent ecstasy, Leighton Meester making out in a pool, Chace Crawford in bed shirtless, Ed Westwick feeding a girl cherries -- with some of the worst reviews they've received, the network attempts to makes "bad" good again.

Our favorite spin? Turning notorious TV watchgroup Parent Television Council's remark on the series ("Mind-blowingly inappropriate") on its head.

They, on the other hand, are not laughing. Melissa Henson, PTC director of communications. told the Associated Press, "I think it reeks of desperation, if they have to position themselves as so edgy and so controversial that they've been called out by us." CW exec Rick Haskins merely said, "What we're trying to do is communicate with the audience in a way that they like and can appreciate. This sort of campaign resonates with someone who likes 'Gossip Girl.'"

Some of the ads are a bit crazy, but some of them what is the problem. The ads sort of say what the show is going to be like and the different issue that they deal with. Some people take some things to serious when they are more other important things.I mean they are just ads, not trying to promtate anything bad.
