Wanted Dead or Alive?

Word is out! Emmy winner Cady McClain will resume her "All My Children" role as sweet and sassy Dixie Cooney Martin in May. But there's one catch: She'll be coming back as a ghost.

Our message boards are buzzing, and everybody's psyched about Dixie's mission to reunite true love Tad with their long-lost daughter. As "All My Children" poster "BJOP4" wrote, "I would love to have Dixie come back so the storyline regarding Kathy/Kate will finally be resolved."

Some devotees will take their "Tixie" (Tad and Dixie's affectionate nickname) any way they can get it. Including "All4amc17," who said: "It's like the movie 'Ghost' ... after Tad is reunited with Kate, he will get to see Dixie and say his final good-bye like Demi did with Patrick." Aw ... we love that movie.

But other fans struggled to find romance in the situation, and campaigned for a real-life "Tixie" reunion. "TD89FAN" insisted, "I don't want a ghost Dixie! ... I'll only accept this temporarily ... in hopes that this is just the beginning for a return ... ALIVE!!!"

Well, we'd love to see Dixie rise from the grave too. But the last time we saw her, she looked pretty, well, dead. "Royalblue99" made a good point, however: "If Jesse can be a ghost and then be alive, so can Dixie." Good catch! Jesse's character did appear as a spirit years ago, only to be brought back to life for a splashy return this winter.
