Somebody better call a doctor, STAT! Noah Newman from "The Young and the Restless" has caught an acute case of SORAS -- that mysterious TV condition otherwise known as Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome.
Last played by 12-year-old actor Hunter Allan, Noah was sent off to summer camp on June 9. Looks like that was the official end of his childhood ...
When Noah returns to Genoa City on August 13, Nick and Sharon's son will be played by Kevin Schmidt. Who's about to turn 20. LOL! What could that camp be putting in the juice boxes at their canteen, we wonder?
Kevin is best known for playing one of the Baker kids in "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Cheaper by the Dozen 2," which co-starred Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt, Hilary Duff, and Tom Welling from "Smallville."

Well the writers must have some point to this but it is such a flagrant move...off goes cute little Noah and back comes Noah, who is appears thinks highly of Amber and that might be the next "well it just happened..we did not mean for it to happen" thing...it would be "Amberish" to bed down the NoahMan. I think it is ridiculous to age someone that fast...is he older than Cassie now?

The same thing happened to Nick! He went away to baseball camp and came back a teen. I thought it was just as ridiculous then as I do now.

I don't they should replace with actor so old. I think that he should go up naturally. It would have been better and more believeable. I know that soap operas do this all the time, but this wasn't don't well. He was just gone for summer camp and he comes back a high school student. A maybe a 12 year to junior in high school let's be real

Why such a big jump in ages from old Noah to Nu ?? Won't that make Sharon and Nick much much older as well? Hmmmm seems to me a couple of years progression would have been more in line.

Nicholas isn't old enough to have a kid that age, not to mention that he is almost the same size. This has got to be a joke. If they were going to replace Hunter Allen, they should have gotten someone closer to his age. This is just too weird.

I think he'll work out just fine and anyone who thinks these writers are not doing a great job should tune in One Life to Live -- we thought it was a 2 day 40th year anniversary spoof on July 21 & 22 and it's stilllllllll going on. Keep up the good work Y & R

I don't think they can successfully explain Noah's aging miracle. Many times the writers ask us to take a leap where the storyline seems to be a bit much, but this time they are asking us to do it without parachutes. Pat

This is just not right!!! Hunter Allen was growing into such a fine actor and that was his part. These so called writers should have left things alone and let the Noah grow up as Hunter is--Kids just don't grown in 10 weeks; aging 10+ years. In my mind he'll always be Noah!

Aging Noah this much,is almost as idiotic as putting Sabrina in the limo with David. The new kid is cute, but Nick isn't old enough to have a kid that age. The younger Noah was fine. This whole thing is so not believable...aging Summer, is also unrealistic. Do the writers really think that this is acceptable?

I think it's ridiculous that Noah grew up over the summer from a little boy to a full grown guy! They should have kept little Noah and let him grow with the show like other soaps do.

He would have passed for 16 and the writiers should have done that. They aged Nickolas and Phylis' daughter a couple years and I haven't seen Filmore lately but this is rediculous! Karen.. AZ

I am soooo happy that younger Noah is gone! I have always thought he was horrible, he could not act!! But to go from him to this is a little much but that's a soap for ya. :) I will be much happier watching the Noah clips now, actually I will watch them now ha ha ha

Okay I kinda thought Noah would age over the summer, but honestly, to 20 that was extreme, a teenager would have been better,heck his parents are barely in their 30's. I don't think the show needed another hot young star we have several already. His last show date was in June not even 2 months until the new guy appears, whatever.

This is hilarious about Noah coming back as 20, I can see 16 but 20!!!!!! they will be losing viewers!!!!!!Killing off Sabrina was not a good choice either. Y&R has taking a turn for the worst instead of the better.

Ok I am thoroughly upset that Sabrina is gone, but I tell you what I was in tears... The pain and emotion they were able to pull from my insides were incredible, and I give a thumbs up to the writers for making me be on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode. I even got into a discussion with my Mom who did not like Sabrina, and I did, and we debated whether she was good for Victor or not. She proceeded to send me a sympathy card in the mail that said she was sorry for Sabrina's passing!!!! Then in parenthesis (NOT) So I say kudos to the writers for keeping me interested, and giving me a special moment and a huge laugh with my mom.

I honestly stopped watching Y & R when the killed off Sabrina, i turned off the television and threw down the remote. I think that story line was the most stupid they have down yet, that showed a whole new side of Victor, a soft romantic french side, and now I just will not watch it unless they bring back Sabrina,,,,this was the only soap I did watch, and now I think these new writers or whoever they are don"t know what they are doing.....

It's been a while since I have written a comment on here because i wanted to see how the new writers were going to turn this show around. I've given it enough time. What the heck are they doing? Just when we got used to Sabrina and started liking her with Victor, they kill her off. Someday Victor and Nikki should get back together, but not yet. Victor deserves some happiness and Sabrina was a very interesting character. Also- what is up with Noah now being 20? Come on! This is rediculous. How is Noah going to return to y&R being so much older when the rest of the show is not moving with that time? I think if Noah gets older so should everything and everyone else....which will only mean that parts in the writers' script will not add up.

This is my very first post on Soap.Net so please bear with me. I Don't understand why, why they do this?? When Cassie past away she was just going to the Prom and now Noah is going to college?? And the parents never get old. Jack raised Nick and now they switched wives?? I guess this is why we watch this craziness.

I think that it would have been better to let Noah young for a while, it is to much of a age difference comming back from camp a 20 yr old. it is just wrong.

As a Y&R fan like many others I was glad to see victor finding happiness with Sabrina, nikki reminds me of a magnet always attracting the wrong type of guy. Jack rewording the article on Sabrina in restless style makes me recall his manipulating of his father's will and he so cruelly made gloria, out of the will. He took advantage of his own father when he was messed up due to medication. Now that it is out about this new stunt I can't wait to see Victor nailing Jack, and they say revenge is sweet. For the things I mentioned Jack belongs behind bars, wake up sharon leave him, or you may follow in nikki's footsteps.

Wow!! I wish my kids could go to summer camp and come back adults. Summer looks like she is about 5 now , around x-mas she was still sleeping in a crib , last week she looked as if she was ready for first grade .

Now I know these writers are out of their minds! They kill off a beautiful young woman who added class to Y&R and perfect for Victor. Now they bring back Noah who is 8 years older than he was 2 months ago when he went to camp. How absurd is this? The first absurdity was when they let go of Adrienne aka Colleen. Then Sabrina getting killed. And now Noah who left for camp as a adolescent and now a grown man! These writers are ridiculous!

why did they get rid of noah? It made more sense for him to be the age he was with Cassie being killed when she was driving and not old enough to have a license, now its going to screw up the plot to where it makes no sense. Why cant good things be left well enough alone. Just like the other Colleen, Adriene, they got rid of her because she gained weight, and the new one has the personality of wallpaper paste. No wonder Adrienne corbelle made it with Amber when he had a chance, this new Colleen is kind of bland. I am glad they put the original girl back as Drew's daughter, I didnt like the one they had replace her. She was a total zero. I think Cane will marry her anyway regardless of what cheap tricks Chloe tries to pull as everyone knows Chloe is nothing but a cheap trick.
