When one fan asked if the other writers on staff knew how the show would end -- noting that even Damon and Carlton's moms have admitted they don't know (referring to the positively genius Mothers' Day podcast that featured Sue Klausner and Sue Cuse; check it out HERE
) -- Damon replied, "Wow, talking about my mother in front of 6,500 people. It's a Jew's dream." After the laughter died down, the guys proceeded to answer the question. (Yes, other writers know things.) That fan was awarded a life preserver signed by the entire writing staff.
Another fan asked the all-important question: "Did Vincent [the dog] survive the island moving?" Damon and Carlton assured us that yes, Vincent did indeed survive -- and it's safe to say Vincent will survive until the end of the show. What a relief! They can kill almost everyone else, magnificently and for dramatic purposes, but it's good to know that they intend to save that sweet brown-eyed labbie. (He was the first thing Jack saw after waking up from the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, BTW.)
The amazing final stunt occurred when one of the newly initiated Dharma recruits ran breathless onto the stage, announcing that he'd escaped the training and had a shocking video to show. It was a clip of Marvin Candle (who told us his real name was Pierre Chang) from Ann Arbor, MI, warning everyone that a "violent purge, one that we are powerless to escape," was imminent. He further stated, "Time is not just of the essence. It IS the essence." Whoa ... Why do we have to wait until 2009 to see what this is all about?!? If you want to watch the whole video, check out the YouTube link HERE.
Hans then stormed onto the stage, revoked the Dharma sponsorship of the event, and unceremoniously stripped the guys of their Dharma cups.
It was totally amazing. For more "Lost," we'll just have to wait until February. Good luck ... and Namaste.
