Sara Evans Is Gettin' Hitched

Sara Evans isn't wasting any time -- her divorce was finalized last September, and now the country star is making plans to wed her new beau! It's been revealed that Jay Barker, a morning radio show host in Birmingham and former University of Alabama football star, popped the question to the singer a few weeks ago in New York City.

"You are the best person I've ever been around in my life," he told the "Dancing with the Stars" alum when she called in to his show last Tuesday morning. And Sara, who left the show in October 2006 when she filed for divorce, responded, "If you had asked me this time last year if I thought I'd be sitting here engaged to the most amazing man I ever met, I would have just laughed." Awww.

The love birds, who met through mutual friends, have been dating since early last fall and haven't announced a date for the nuptials. Each has some baggage: Sara, 37, has three kids and Jay, 35, has four with former wife Amy (whom he divorced last summer). Calling all reality-show producers: We smell an opportunity for a Southern, musical version of "The Brady Bunch"!
