Snoop Dogg, reality TV star and the LBC's now-and-forever King of Gin and Juice, is teaming up with Bollywood royalty. The D-O-double-G is collaborating with Akshay Kumar, Bollywood's biggest actor, to make the title track for Akshay's upcoming film, "Singh is Kinng."
Producer Vipul A. Shah, says, "The most interesting aspect of the song is that one gets to see two very different styles -- hip-hop with Snoop and Bhangra with Akshay." Shah also notes, "Their chemistry was worth seeing as they're superstars from two different worlds. To say the least, the video is looking brilliant!" The aforementioned music video will feature Snoop in traditional "grand sardar" garb, BTW. (We heart Bhangra, as well as Jay-Z's remix of Panjabi MC's "Beware of the Boys," so we're all about another East-meets-West collaboration.)
Snoop doesn't plan to stop with Bollywood music videos either. Vipul further states, "Snoop wants to do a Hindi movie with Akshay, as he is really keen on wooing the Indian audiences." He's got his mind on his money and his money on his mind, apparently.
And the Doggfather's not the only entertainer interested in India: Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks Studio has been courting Indian investors. We smell a hot, profitable new trend on the horizon ...
