What Is RSS?
Okay. Take a deep breath, because you're about to learn all about an RSS feed - the tool that magically puts all SOAPnet's content in one convenient place.
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and it works via special web coding called XML - the "magic" element of the equation. Essentially, it takes headlines and information from your source of choice (SOAPnet, obvs) and puts it on another page - an RSS Reader.
How do you get an RSS reader? Chances are, you already have one! We get ours on our "My Yahoo" page. SOAPGen likes to read her RSS through Google. Basically, type "RSS Feed Readers" into your search engine of choice, and check out your options (most of which are free. Yay!).
Once you've chosen a reader, start subscribing! You can sign on to receive all of SOAPnet's feeds, or select by category - shows, stars and style. In each case, all you have to do is click on the one of the RSS buttons below. That'll open a page of code but don't panic! Your part is just to copy the web address of the page and paste it into your feed reader. Then it automatically retrieves and displays the latest in SOAPnet news.
Tada!
Try it out - if you have any questions, let us know on the the SOAPnet Dev Team message board!
