Personal: The oldest of four children (three boys, one girl), James went to boarding school in England. But after graduation he headed to Scotland to find himself. (His mother is Scottish, and he spent much of his youth there.) We're not sure if he found himself, but he did find a career in the Edinburgh theater scene.
Professional: James's first gig was at the Gilded Balloon Theatre, where he got to work with Stephen Fry (one half, with "House" star Hugh Laurie, of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie") and Eddie Izzard (creator and star of FX's "The Riches"). When James moved to London to pursue a stage career, he was spotted by the STORM modeling agency (home of stars like Kate Moss and Elle McPherson). Soon he'd scored enough work to pay his way through the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
After studying there for two years, James moved to L.A. He must've really been paying attention in class, because he was soon cast as Ethan Cambias on "All My Children." In May 2006, he joined "Days of Our Lives," originating the role of suave outsider E.J. Wells.
Did You Know? James met fiancee Meyghan Hill while they were walking their dogs. Meyghan thought James was gay at first. (He seemed so English!) Boy, did he prove her wrong. He asked her out, and they've been together ever since.
