Episode Name: "The Becoming"
Season 4, Episode 14
Original Airdate: May 8, 2008

Seattle Grace's staff sleeps around a lot.

In a Word: Burke's ghost haunts Cristina. Meredith works through her McDreamy issues. Sloan ruins sex for everyone.

The Action: Meredith's still in therapy. She wants some strategies to get over wanting Derek to stick his tongue in her mouth. The therapist tells her to just focus on reality: Derek's got a new girlfriend. The newest victim for Meredith's clinical trial is an active-duty serviceman. His super hot platoon-mate shows up to visit, but Darren (the patient) isn't exactly jumping for joy. Darren's "friend" wants to delay redeployment for the length of his recovery. Darren's dad walks in as the boys make out. He's a crusty old ex-military type who doesn't approve of the gays.

Derek tries to get some work done while Meredith moons over him. After the successful surgery, Rose steals Meredith's thunder by waltzing up to whisk Derek away. Unfortunately, Darren dies right before Todd storms on the scene, demanding to know his status. Derek comes back to the hospital and comforts Meredith. Todd gets to say his goodbyes to Darren's body. Derek tells Sloan he slept with Rose but thought of Meredith the whole time. Meredith's therapist thinks she needs to get a grip on her neurosis and plays chicken with her to get Meredith to go after Derek. Do therapists really act like that?

Bailey busts Callie and Sloan getting it on. In a related storyline, the Chief informs Sloan that his rakish ways have caused the nurses to refuse to work with him anymore, so they've sent a union mediator to deal with him. The mediator happens to be the Chief's ex-wife, Odell. Everyone in the hospital has to fill out a form indicating every other employee they've slept with. Oh, that's going to go over well at Seattle Grace! Can you just list who you haven't slept with instead? The Chief asks George to be his personal intern in a bid to impress Odell with how he's changed. George gets the job of collecting everyone's sexual history worksheets. Sloan is a jerk to Rose because she won't talk to the other nurses for him. The real jerk award of the day, though, goes to Alex, who forgets he had sex with Lexi when she's sitting right there. The Chief tells Bailey she doesn't have to fill out a sexual history form, so she fills out a fake one, then rants to the Chief that no one sees her as a sexual being.

Sloan's lost his libido because his surgeries got canceled due to the nursing strike. George delivers the forms and realizes that the Chief is using him to get in good with Odell, but the Chief offers him the job for real because George's such a hard worker. Cristina gets called in because she didn't fill out her sexual history form, so she gives a monologue about how she did all of Burke's work when he had tremors and now she gets no recognition for all of her hard work. Bailey confronts the nurses about Sloan and tells them they know he's a skank, so stop sleeping with him and get on with their jobs. The Chief and Odell get it on with each other. Bailey really is the only one not having sex at that hospital.

The gang's worried about Cristina finding out that Burke won a prestigious award. Whoops, that backfires when they just draw her attention to it. Alex wants Rebecca to move in with him until they can get their own place, but Izzie thinks that's crackers since the chick's still married to someone else. He drops the pregnancy bomb before storming off to do rounds with Hahn.

On rounds, Cristina acts up to get sent to the morgue to harvest hearts. The rounds move on to a woman in a bubble who's flipping out about being in isolation for too long. But, good news, she has a heart for a transplant. Lexi tries to get Cristina to talk, but instead Cristina has a minor episode and begins singing "Like a Virgin" over a cadaver. Meredith confronts Cristina about Burke. Alex pulls babysitting duty because he has a slight fever, and Cristina gets to scrub in on the heart transplant, where Hahn -- who wanted to win that cardiac award, too -- tries to bond with her by hating on Burke. Christina's silence comes off to Hahn as Cristina rising above.

Hahn's bad day continues when she confronts Callie over Sloan (Callie's being a real jerk ditching her for him all the time). Alex breaks the isolation barrier around the heart transplant patient because she codes. He saves her, and he handles the patient's children well, keeping them from seeing their mother in distress. Callie tells Hahn about Addison getting a lesbian vibe from them, and they awkwardly laugh it off.

Our Take: Sloan's the best kind of sleazebag -- a hot one.

Your Take: Will Sloan's next conquest be a desperate Bailey?
